My Black is Beautiful But....
I was having an interesting convo with someone and we were talking about black hair. A lot of people say "my black is beautiful" but have permed hair. Black textured hair is something that is unique to our race. Does this sound like a contradicting statement to make? My black is beautiful but my hair isn't??!! I would like to know some thoughts about this subject...Leave some comments below please!

Re-Grouping After a Major Hair Set Back: What You Will Need
Have you ever suffered from heat damage, breakage, or "protective" styling gone wrong? Well you came to the right place.
What You Will Need:
1. Some Patience
2. A Clear Mind
3. Optimistic Thinking
Now for Products:
1. Peppermint Oil, I can not STRESS this enough. If you want to grow your hair back, peppermint oil stimulates hair growth, more than any other oil I have experimented with.
2. Spray bottle. You will need plenty of water to help new stronger hair grow. If you don't get anything else, mix your peppermint oil(5-10 drops) in a spray bottle with water. You will feel a major difference.
3. Castor Oil. This will help with thickness, or at least be a great sealant for your hair. Never forget to add water first.
4. Shea butter......cheap, easy, effective.
5. Glycerin mixed with Water...(not to be used with dry weather)
In Other News: My first light Blowout since I started my journey, I didn't want a completely straighten look, it was just so the person doing my hair wouldn't curse me out. Plus I didn't want heat damage.

World Natural Hair Show
I went to the World Natural Hair Show in Atlanta GA recently, and I had a wonderful time meeting so many great people, and YouTube celebrities :)
I wasn't a fan of the long line to get in or all of the product pushing. The best advice I have is, when you go to these things, have a clear understanding of what you want to buy, and what you really need or else all the money in your wallet will be gone by the end of the night. Everyone is going to try and sell you their product, and it's so amazing to me how many of these people don't really have knowledge of natural hair, outside of whatever product they are telling to sell you.
Knowledge is definitely a major factor when it comes to natural hair, because you may find yourself going in cycles and listening to people telling you about what they think is best for YOUR HAIR. You don't need to spend a lot of money to be natural. There's no magic product that will make your hair look like that girl's hair. Work with what you have. :)
P.S some of these pics are not coming out clear, not sure why :(

Banana Hair Smoothie & My Hair Steamer
My new favorite thing!! Please do NOT waste your money on deep conditioners
anymore. I tired this smoothie for the first time yesterday, and I promise it gave the
same results as me buying a brand name $$$ deep conditioner. It is so simple to make
and it has all the wonderful benefits your hair needs to be awesome!!!

Blend ( I recommend a hand blender)
- Wasn't that simple :)
* Note: Do not wash your hair with extremely hot water, the egg will cook in your hair. 0_0
* Put a plastic cap on for 15mins or sit under a hair streamer.

had so much definition from a deep conditioner.

Whipped Shea butter [ How To ]
Hey!!
Here it is. I bought some shea butter, cut it into cubes and kept it at room temperature so it would be soft enough to blend.
1. A tablespoon or MORE of these oils, Grape seed oil, peppermint oil, castor oil, safflower seed oil, Jojoba oil, rosemary oil, and glycerin.
2. Mix with a hand blender at room temperature.
3. As you can see, I didn't need that much shea butter to get almost a full container.
Cut up the Shea butter |
All done(best thing about this blender, is you don't have to transfer anything to another container. |
Much needed rubber spoon |
From start.

Articles I Find Interesting
I did not write this article but I love sharing :)
Myth 15: Applying mayonnaise to your hair will make it glossier.
Mayo is made with an oil base, and it makes hair shine. But to avoid a mess, try this method:
- Apply a cup of mayonnaise mixed with a teaspoon of vanilla extract (to cut the mayonnaise scent) to dry, unwashed hair.
- Cover your head with a warm towel to help the mayonnaise penetrate, and leave it on for 20 minutes.
- Before you step into the shower, apply a heaping handful of shampoo to your hair. Don't add any water yet; just massage it in thoroughly for several minutes. That will help break down the excess oil, says Berkovitz.
- Rinse with cool water in the shower and your hair will come out shiny and silky.
If the idea of putting a condiment in your hair makes you queasy, try a rich glossing treatment, such as Phytonectar Ultra-Nourishing Oil Treatment ($30, drugstore.com), which contains egg and rich oils, the basic ingredients in mayonnaise.
